STAFF Positions Available:
Applications will be accepted until October 28, 2019. We are shooting for a full team by November 8th.
Job Descriptions:
Each of the Section Leads should have all of the following skills as well as but not limited to the skills related to their specific section.
- Attend NCRE 2020 in Denver, CO May 27-31, 2020
- Detail oriented with strong self-management skills.
- Able to manage teams effectively (in person and remotely).
- Excellent time management.
- Ability to handle a large work load.
- Both good written and verbal skills.
- Provide a Monthly Report of work done
- Available for Google Hangout Meetings at least once a month (microphone required)
-Charity Lead & Second
Duties: Works directly with the Event Lead and the aNCA - Charities to select the convention sponsored charities. Will coordinate, plan, and execute all charity drives and auctions at the convention while working within the parameters and guidelines for Charites as established by the NCA. Will work with National and Regional Storytellers as well as outside sources to source items both in and out of character for the charity auction(s).
-Concierge Lead & Second
Duties: Set up and monitor the Concierge Suite (Room) for the convention. Also responsible for working with special interest groups in organizing activities. (i.e. Giovanni Dinner, Parent Group, etc.) Collect information about surrounding area for attendees. Work with Media Lead to develop a "Helpful Resources" list. Manage Lost & Found. Please note this department is funded by donations only, including the cost of the hotel spaced used.
-Marketing and Media Lead & Second
Duties: This team works on the PR of the event by, advertising the convention via a variety of marketing tools, be it through Website, Video, Radio, Podcast, etc.; including informational advertising, as well as IC marketing and "teasers". When applying for this position please add Webpages and Wiki Pages that you have created and maintained. This team will also work in conjunction with the Photography and Publications Leads to ensure that all Media and Publications produced for this convention are delivered in a cohesive high quality end product. This team will work with the Branding Team of the NCA’s office to ensure cohesive nature of all of the events media aspects.WordPress experience is required for this position.
-Photography Lead
Duties: Heads up the Photo Team and Photo Booth for Players who want pictures in Costumes, as well as capturing candid photos throughout the convention. This lead works in conjunction with the Marketing and Media Team.
-Registration Lead & Second
Duties: Coordinates the OOC & IC Registration for onsite, as well as assisting in pre-registration processes including but not limited preparing registration forms and guest packets for the convention. This team will work with Venue Leads to insure any “special items” are checked in accordingly for IC related check-ins.
-Security Lead & Second
Duties: Handle our On-Site Security and ensure that the Rules of the Convention are being followed including the new props policy. May also be responsible for dealing with any disruptions and disturbances with our members per Hotel Staff request.
-Stage Manager & Second
Duties: Working as a Go Between when it comes to the hotel and the Venue Leads to provide an immersive gaming experience for this event. In general, if you know theater, think a Stage Manager. This team will work with the Décor Team of the NCA’s office to ensure an immersive game environment for the venues hosted.
-Volunteer Lead & Second
Duties: Responsible for finding and coordinating guests to help volunteer at the convention to help out make the convention a success. This may include work prior to the convention in the form if sourcing and pre-scheduling volunteers for a variety of tasks to be completed on site. Will work with the Storyteller and Venue Leads to find narrators and NPC's at their discretion.
-Programming Lead and Second
Duties: The Programming Lead is responsible for all official non-Chronicle events at the Convention, such as Opening and Closing Ceremonies, non-Chronicle games*, meetings and panels, social gatherings, and Club culture and education events. The ANCA Programming can act as a mentor in these cases. Programming Lead will help to make sure these run smoothly and on time. If the event plans to host a Concierge Lounge (which must be cost-neutral for the event), the Concierge Lead will manage it. If the Concierge Lounge will have official event board games, karaoke, Club Culture talks, or any such event/Programs, such Programs will fall under the office of the Programming Lead, while the maintenance and staffing of the Concierge Suite will be under the Concierge Lead.
*Non-Chronicle games include charity games and any game set outside of the MES Chronicles’ continuities. “Historial” games set in one of the MES Chronicles’ Continuities still fall under the office of ST Lead.
